How can I get a copy of my certificate of inspection?
Go to https://www.jurisdictiononline.com and enter your login information.
- Your user name will be your email address
- You should have received an email when you were first set up as the contact for your business location.
- If you did not receive the email, or you have misplaced your password you can email [email protected] and ask to have your password reset. If on file your old password, or if not a new password will then be sent to you in an email. Once that email with the password is received you will need to highlight and copy the password from the email and then paste it into the login page. Typing the password in has a very low success rate.
Must the inspection certificate be displayed in proximity to the equipment for which it is issued?
R20-5-407 states “An owner or user of a boiler, lined hot water heater or direct fired jacketed steam kettle shall post the inspection certificate in the establishment where the boiler, lined hot water heater or direct fired jacketed steam kettle is located.”
How can I obtain a listing of all registered equipment in?
A listing of all registered equipment in Arizona can be obtained by visiting https://www.azica.gov/forms/legal4401 and follow the directions, fees may apply.
How do I schedule for my boiler to be inspected?
As of July 1st 2017, The Arizona Boiler Safety Section will no longer perform inspections of boilers and water heaters
- All certificate Inspections, and mandatory in-service inspections to be performed after July 1, 2017 shall be performed by third party inspection agencies as shown under “List of Authorized companies for Boiler Inspections” https://www.azica.gov/adosh-list-authorized-companies-boiler-inspections.
We are installing a new boiler, jacketed steam kettle, or lined hot water heater, who should we contact?
- You will need to fill out a “Notice of Install or Reinstall fillable Form” found at https://www.azica.gov/sites/default/files/New%20Install%20Reinstall%20form%20%281%29.pdf
- You will need to contact either a qualified Inspector from your insurance carrier; or an authorized Contract Fee Inspector found at https://www.azica.gov/adosh-list-authorized-companies-boiler-inspections
How often must a boiler and/or pressure vessel be inspected?
- Power boilers (over 15 psi steam or vapor pressure):
- An annual internal certificate inspection and an external inspection while under operating conditions (approximately six months apart).
- High temperature (water) boilers (exceeding 160 psi and/or 250°F):
- A certificate inspection every year.
- Direct-fired steam-jacketed kettles:
- A certificate inspection every two years.
- Heating or process boilers, not exceeding 15 psi (steam or vapor):
- A certificate inspection every two years.
- Hot-water boilers operating at pressures not exceeding 160 psi or a temperature not exceeding 250°F:
- An initial certificate inspection (may be external) with no further inspections required.
- Lined hot-water heaters that exceed any of the following limitations:
- Heat input of 200,000 BTU per hour.
- Water temperature of 210°F.
- Nominal water-containing capacity of 120 gallons.
- An initial certificate inspection (may be external) with no further inspections required.
- Weld repairs, alterations, replacement of any power piping (pipe, valves, and fittings) operated above 15 psi steam, and/or major component replacement.
Why haven't I received my boiler operation certificate?
- In order to receive your operating certificate all required inspections shall be completed within the specified time.
- Once all required inspections have been completed and there are no open “Certificate Blocking Violations” your certificate of operation will be available at https://www.jurisdictiononline.com.

Is a license required to operate a boiler in Arizona?
There is currently no state requirement in Arizona to have a license to operate a boiler. However, another political subdivisions of the city/county/state may have boiler operator license requirements.
Why is an insurance company inspecting my boiler?
If you maintain insurance on your boiler, the insurance inspector, who is commissioned by the state, will perform the required periodic inspections. If the insurance is canceled, a private authorized inspection agency can inspect your boiler.
Isn't it the responsibility of the insurance company to know when my certificate expires?
No, it is the responsibility of the owner, user, or operator to make sure inspections are being completed, and the certificate is up to date.
Prior to issueing a delinquent notice, should the state notify me that my certificate will be expiring soon?
No, the state issues no notices to the owner regarding the expiration of the certificate prior to the issuance of a delinquent notice.
What should I do if the owner and/or responsibile party for a boiler or pressure vessel changed?
Complete the Contact/Owner Change form that is available on the Forms page and submit it to the Boiler Inspection office.
My boiler did not pass inspection... What must I do?
Under ideal circumstances, the inspector was given assistance to access the boiler for inspection by a representative of the boiler owner or user. The owner or user’s representative should question the inspector at the time of inspection for clarification of any condition not understood by the representative. The inspector should be contacted directly for clarification of any condition not understood.
What should I do if I cannot complete repairs to my boiler within days allotted to bring it into compliancellotted to bringing it into compliance?

What are the requirements regarding welding repairs and contruction or boilers and/or pressure vesvel?
- The repairs must be performed by a boiler technician who has an "R" Stamp issued by the National Board of Boiler Inspectors.

I have multiple vessels at a location that are regulated and the permits expire on different dates. Can I arrange the permits to expire on the same date for convenience in future inspection scheduling?
Yes. Ask the inspector to submit inspection reports to reflect the same expiration date for the vessels you wish to expire at the same time. The inspector is not permitted to request an expiration date that exceeds the frequency established in Arizona Administrative Code for the type vessel inspected; however, there are no restrictions on submitting reports in advance of the expiration date on their permit. Note: The inspector must indicate on the inspection report a desire to “advance the permit”, and if the owner or user agrees to this change.
